The Broker - What It Is
TabTrade.com went live in Q1 2026. Online broker incorporated in Saint Lucia, licensed through the FSRA. The person who started it is Benjamin Boulter. Prior to TabTrade, he was a senior exec at BlackBull Markets, a New Zealand-regulated broker.
His background tells you something. It means the person running this has actually done this before. Does not mean TabTrade is the same as BlackBull. But better than someone with no brokerage experience.
TabTrade came out of the gate with Equinix data centre access in London. Same data centres institutional desks use. The typical new launch leads with marketing and bonuses. Tab Trade did the opposite. Unusual for a new broker.
The instrument list: forex, indices, gold, silver, oil, energies, softs, equities, crypto, exchange-traded funds. A wide spread. For a platform that is a few months old, that range is broad.
The Software
They offer: MT5, cTrader, and web trading. Two major platforms from the same login. Most brokers only give you one or the other. Access to both matters. Use whichever you prefer.
MetaTrader 5 is what most people know. Full charting, Expert Advisors, tons of scripts and indicators. If you have used a MetaQuotes platform before, you know exactly what you are getting.
cTrader by Spotware is the cleaner option. Cleaner order book. Faster charting. Built-in algo trading. Plenty of traders find it more natural once they try it.
Direct FIX connectivity is available for bots but requires the VIP tier ($25k minimum). TradingView is said to be in the works. That should be a good addition when it arrives.
What You Pay
Three account types: Standard, Edge, VIP.
Standard account. Spread starts at 1.0 pips. Commission-free. Easy to track. No minimum deposit. Suits anyone who does not want to think about commission.
Edge. True raw pricing from 0.0 pips on average. Flat commission of $3.50 per side. All-in: raw spread plus $7 per full lot. On liquid pairs, the actual interbank spread is often under 0.2 pips. So your actual cost per trade sometimes sits below 0.5 pips. That is good for an offshore broker. Most platforms that offer pricing like this want $500 or more to open. Tab Trade has no minimum.
VIP account. $25k to open. FIX connectivity, execution under 20ms, negotiated fees. Not relevant to typical accounts. Do not worry about it unless you run serious volume.
Execution Speed
This is the thing this broker actually does something different. Equinix LD4/LD5. Execution below 30 milliseconds on Edge. Below 20ms on VIP. That is not marketing fluff. The average platform run hundreds of milliseconds.
Does this affect you? If you scalp, yes. The difference between fast execution and sluggish execution is profit or loss on tight trades. If you hold positions longer, it matters less. But the fact that the infrastructure is there. That signals they are not cutting corners on the tech.
Pair that execution speed with the Edge account pricing and the overall offering makes sense. Few brokers in this bracket run Equinix connectivity.
Regulation
Now, the thing you need to be straight about. The broker is licensed by the FSRA in Saint Lucia. That is outside tier-1 jurisdiction. No ASIC. No investor compensation scheme. If operating without FCA or ASIC oversight makes you uncomfortable, stop reading. Lots of tier-1 alternatives out there.
That said. Benjamin Boulter spent years at BlackBull Markets, a proper broker. The execution setup is not cheap. Scam brokers do not bother with Equinix connectivity. This does not replace tier-1 regulation. But be part of your decision.
The deal: you trade regulatory safety. What you get instead: 1:1000 leverage, raw pricing from 0.0 pips, $0 to start, fast fills. Whether that makes sense is your call.
Welcome Offer
Tab Trade offers a welcome bonus of up to $2,000. Usual deposit match. You put money in, TabTrade credit extra capital. Standard terms apply: trading volume requirements before bonus funds can be taken out. Review the fine print before you deposit.
